About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog.

This site lets you into my crazy world which revolves around many things. My aim is to bring a bit of myself to all of you wonderful visitors.

The first thing I should mention is my wonderful fiancée Hannah, we have been together for over 3 years now but have known each other much longer, you can follow her at @HannahDix17 on Twitter!

I am actively into social media and have Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, YouTube, and LinkedIn presences, all of which are accessible from the Social Networks page in the top navigation.

My work life is currently in an incline beyond no other. Starting as  a "Graduate CNC consultant and Technical Trainee" in June 2011 my career with BMS got off to a good start helping internal and external customers with technical issues often based around the JD Edwards suite of products, In Novemeber 2011 (1 month before my probationary period was up) I was given the opportunity to form a new "Infrastructure" team wich would be tasked with helping the company improve and stabiliise its relatively ad-hoc systems in order to support the ambition and growth expected. As Infrastructure Manager from 1st Novemeber 2011 I have made many improvements to the systems and continue to explore new technologies and methodologies to help support our expert staff.

My hobbies include web design, blogging, football (soccer), cricket, athletics, travelling and films.

Travelling is a big part of my life as my dad lives in Jacksonville, Florida and my Nan & Granddad in Javea, Spain. I try to get out to both of these locations yearly, although it’s usually twice a year to the US and every 18months to Spain!

I actively follow West Bromwich Albion Football Club who are a fantastically well run team currently in the English Premier League. This has been our most successful season in modern times in terms of league position, and with only a few games to go it looks like a fantastic finish under new manager Roy Hodgson. I actively tweet about #wba throughout the week, especially when there’s big games coming up! My favourite players include James Morrison, Jerome Thomas and Paul Scharner, not the typical favourites list of a West Brom fan, but they all do a fantastic job and are definitely team players.

I love to watch England in all forms of Cricket, although my lack of Sky Sports now hinders this! I recently went to the Birmingham Grand Prix indoor athletics event, and love to watch any track and field events at major championships, especially when there’s a British medal hope.
